EXLE was commissioned to create custom solid wood tables for meeting rooms in a large heritage office space. In keeping with the nature of the building we used Fir Timbers salvaged from a local historic school to construct massive meeting tables with custom joinery and finishing. Each reclaimed wood table underwent approximately 20 hours of sanding to create a perfectly smooth finish, however, the original saw marks from Hastings Mill are still wildly visible giving the table much depth and dimension. These pieces are not only incredible hand-crafted works of art but they display a vivid story of Vancouver’s past.
